So I finally received my computer part, except the hard drives which I will receive on Friday. But since I’m an impatient guy I decided to open up my USB box and use that 1TB HDD instead. Made a 100GB partition on it which will give me way enough room for Win 7 and a couple games until I get the 2 Western Digital Black 500GB drives that I’ll setup in Raid 0.
I’m also still waiting on the case which is out of stock, I’m looking into getting the Lian Li PC-10B, but if it doesn’t restock soon I’ll probably get a Coolmaster instead. Anyway on to the How To:
Empty the Boxes
First step, getting all the shizzle out of the box and all those fuzzy little things inside to protect everything.
Pop in the CPU
I bought an Intel I7 920, unfortunately forgot to take an image of the processor in the slot…
Mount the Heatsink on the Motherboard
The heatsink is a Noctua NH-U12P and the motherboard is an Asus P6T SE. The heatsink actually requires quite some work, it’s so huge there’s several plates you need to attach to the motherboard before you can start mounting it on really.
Put the RAM in place
3x 2G DDR3-1600 Corsair Dominator-GT for a good 6GB of RAM
This thing is probably one of the best there is for this MB and CPU. It even has a fan to attach above should I ever overclock it and want to cool it down. Though right now I’m still trying to actually make it work at 1600 MHz, something ain’t quite right and it only works at 1333 MHz. I’ll look into it when it’s not bed time… :p
Put the Video card!
I bought a HIS HD 5850… yes I know I got an ATI card over an Nvidia, I will burn in hell. But unfortunately they’re the only ones doing Direct X 11 compatible cards at the moment so… This card is a monster, if you click on the picture to have a bigger view, you’ll notice that it comes very short of being the size of the motherboard. I’m not even sure how putting two of these monsters is even doable.
Power Supply, DVD, HDD and voila!
Finally, the PSU, the DVD and the HDD can be plugged in. The HDD here is just temporary as I mentioned earlier. I cannot wait to try the drives I ordered in raid 0. Right now my Windows 7 Experience Index is only at 5.9 for the Disk data transfer rate.
Next step is getting a Case, a second monitor and some speakers!

Pas de version francaise. C’est que des infos technique d’ordinateur qui n’interessont aucune des lecteurs francais je pense, sauf Nico, mais tu peux lire l’anglais toi.

lol.. just lol. You ARE impatient haha, running that shit without a case and grabbing the HD out of a USB case
But tbh I probably would have done the same ^^
Seems like monster hardware man! I didn’t even know RAM came in cooled boxes these days and that CPU heatsink is just over the top.
You failed with ATi graphics tho, Nvidia is where it’s at
HF with the stuff!
Nice :O
your PC has more fans than circuits man.
Good man, Spankey, you got pretty much the same setup as me with the mobo and CPU. Mine doesn’t have quite as many fans though…
*6 gig high five*
Very Nice
I want the same CPU fan !!!! (mine is noisy…)
For your RAM, you need to OC your CPU however the RAM won’t run at 1600MHZ. Same problem with my ASUS Mb; They selling motherboards with a “1600MHZ (O.C.) ready” brand…..But in fact you need to OC your CPU….
Good luck, if you find something about that issue, let me know.

==> oué mais alors je suis une bouse à l’écrit et l’oral ^^, fait gaffe tu commence à faire des fautes de genre en francais, c’est typique des gens qui partent à l’étranger et qui ne parlent plus français
Tiens mois au courant.
Ratio : 8, FSB : 200Mhz = RAM@1600Mhz ^^ Check it

ONLY?
ONLY??
ONLY???
7.5 for me
